Hi everyone,
I have a one-year old Hyundai which someone decided to bump into the side of at the Pittsburgh Airport and not leave a note. There is a fairly decent scratch and a much larger dent. Due to the scratch, I think it has to be fixed, plus it is very obvious looking at the car.
Given that the paint was damaged, is it important to take it to a Hyundai dealership as they may have the best chance of matching the color?
Additionally, I called my insurance and found out my deductible is $300. I have to believe it will cost me more than that to get it fixed, but any idea how much it may cost? Is it worth reporting given that they may raise my rate (I am 23)? The paint scratch is about half a finger long and a finger wide and the dent is about the size of your fist. It is above the wheel well and looks like it should pop out, but I know very little about cars.
