Packers defeat Browns 31-3 - Green Bay put together 21 points in the third quarter, and kept Cleveland out of the end zone for the entire game. Aaron Rodgers was efficient, completing 15-of-20 passes for 246 yards and 3 touchdowns. Ryan Grant rushed for 148 yards on the ground and a touchdown.

Texans defeat 49ers 24-21 - Houston took a 21-0 lead into halftime, but a frantic second-half rally by the 49ers made this thing a lot closer than it needed to be. Shaun Hill was benched, and Alex Smith came in to throw 3 touchdowns passes, all to TE Vernon Davis. Matt Schaub now leads the NFL in passing yards, and he put up 264 more Sunday while throwing for 2 touchdowns.

Chargers defeat Chiefs 37-7 - In a must-win game for San Diego, the Chargers responded thanks to 268 passing yards and 3 touchdowns from Phillip Rivers. Vincent Jackson accounted for 142 receiving yards in the first half alone as the Chargers took a 20-0 lead into halftime and never looked back.

Steelers defeat Vikings 27-17 - Pittsburgh’s defense won this game for them, returning a fumble for 77 yards and an interception for 82 yards, both in the fourth quarter and both for touchdowns. The Vikings actually outgained the Steelers 386-259, but the Steelers’ defense was the difference with two huge plays.

Colts defeat Rams 42-6 - Indianapolis handed St. Louis their 17th straight loss, and it was the 16th straight regular season for the Colts in the process. Peyton Manning didn’t top 300 yards passing for the first time this season, but his 235 yards and 3 touchdowns were more than enough to put the Rams away.

Patriots defeat Buccaneers 35-7 - In the third-annual London game, it was Tom Brady and New England who stole the show. Brady threw for 302 yards and 3 touchdowns, while the Patriots’ defense held Tampa QB Josh Johnson to just 9-of-26 passing with 3 interceptions.

Bills defeat Panthers 20-9 - Another poor outing from QB Jake Delhomme had Buffalo coming out on top. Surprisingly, Buffalo was outgained 167-425 but 3 interceptions and a lost fumble from Delhomme put a halt to four Carolina drives. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick made the start in place of Trent Edwards, and he did all that was asked of him by throwing for 123 yards and a touchdown without an interception.

Jets defeat Raiders 38-0 - Three turnovers by JaMarcus Russell in the first half, 2 interceptions and 1 fumble, led to his benching and a 24-0 lead for New York by the break. Rookie RB Shonn Greene led the way on the ground, rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns after Leon Washington went out with a broken leg. Thomas Jones also rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown in the win. Mark Sanchez got back on track, completing 9-of-15 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown without an interception.

Bengals defeat Bears 45-10 - In what was a statement game for Cincinnati, the Bengals took a 31-3 lead into the half. Carson Palmer was flawless, completing 20-of-24 passes for 233 yards and a career-high 5 touchdowns. Chad Ochocinco caught 10 balls for 118 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jay Cutler threw 3 interceptions for Chicago, not helping their cause.

Cowboys defeat Falcons 37-21 - After falling behind 0-7, it was all Dallas the rest of the way as they scored 17 unanswered points in the second quarter. Tony Romo threw for 311 yards and 3 touchdowns, and WR Miles Austin had his second consecutive big game with 6 catches for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns. Austin now has 421 receiving yards and 4 touchdowns in the Cowboys’ last 2 games, alone.

Saints defeat Dolphins 46-34 - It’s hard to believe that New Orleans was down 3-24 in the first half at one point. But they got a touchdown on the final play of the first half on a QB sneak by Drew Brees to make it 10-24 to give them some momentum heading into the break. The Saints outscored the Dolphins 22-0 in the fourth quarter, and Drew Brees finished with 298 passing yards, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. But Brees rushed for 2 touchdowns to help New Orleans remain unbeaten on the season. Miami’s Ricky Williams rushed for 3 touchdowns in the loss.

Cardinals defeat Giants 24-17 - The Cardinals’ defense was the difference. Arizona forced Eli Manning into 3 interceptions and also forced a key fumble by Ahmad Bradshaw late. The Cardinals outscored the Giants 14-3 in the second half.

Eagles defeat Redskins 27-17 - DeSean Jackson rushed for a 67-yard touchdown on an end-around less than 2 minutes into the game. He also caught a 57-yard touchdown pass from Donovan McNabb late in the third quarter to put the Eagles up 27-7, and basically put this game out of reach. Washington actually outgained Philly 308-262 and had 21 first downs to their 11, but 3 lost fumbles and an interception gave the Redskins no chance to win. LB Will Witherspoon made a big impact after getting traded from the Rams earlier this week, returning a Jason Campbell interception for a touchdown to put the Eagles ahead 14-0 in the first quarter.

5 Key Indicators That the Penn State Football Program is a Winner

Has your favorite NCAA football team played for 120 years? That is how long Penn State has been dominating the gridiron. Throughout the years, the team has maintained outstanding records, while undergoing changes of its players, coaches, and nicknames.

Has your favorite NCAA football team played for 120 years? That is how long Penn State has been dominating the gridiron. Throughout the years, the team has maintained outstanding records, while undergoing changes of its players, coaches, and nicknames. Most fans of Penn State and NCAA football are aware that Penn State has won two National Championships. However, that is only one indicator of the squad’s winning tradition. Other gauges include:

1. Coach Joe Paterno

Paterno is currently coaching the Penn State Nittany Lions in his 43rd season. For many Penn State fans, Paterno IS Penn State football. His accomplishments include:

• 2 NCAA football championships (1982, 1986)
• 3 Big Ten Conference Championships (1994, 2005, 2006)
• Winning roughly 75% of the games he has coached
• A 23-10-1 record (.696 winning percentage) in Bowl games
• 3 Eddie Robinson Coach of the Year awards (1978, 1982, 1986)

2. Nittany Lion Mascot

People refer to the Nittany Lion, mascot of the Pennsylvania State University athletic teams, as a cougar, lion, panther, or puma. Unfortunately, the animal became extinct a quarter of a century after the school’s 1855 founding. Why is the mascot Nittany Lions? Penn State’s campus sits within the Nittany Valley, while mount Nittany stands nearby.

Harrison D. “Joe” Mason chose the Nittany Lion symbol, in 1907. A member of Penn State’s baseball team, Princeton showed the visiting team two Bengal tigers. Mason noted that a Penn State Nittany Mountain Lion could overpower a Princeton tiger. Penn State won the game and the rest as they say-is history.

3. Outstanding Bowl game record

Through its history, Penn State has played in 41 bowl games. Its overall record in those games is 26-12-2 (.675) while its record in “major” bowl games, is 14-5-1 (.725).

4. One Heisman Trophy winner

In 1973, John Cappelletti, a running back for Penn State, won the Heisman Trophy. During his senior year at Penn State, he had 286 carries for 1,522 yards, and racked up 17 touchdowns. In his acceptance speech for the Heisman Trophy, Cappelletti dedicated the award to Joey, his dying brother. After graduating from Penn State, John played for the Los Angeles Rams (1974-1978), and then the San Diego Chargers (1980-1983).

Two decades after his senior year at Penn State, the College Football Hall of Fame inducted Cappelletti.

5. Pro Football Hall of Fame Inductees

Besides creating a winning tradition at its school, Penn State football has produced successful NFL players as well. Ex-Penn State players who the professional football Hall of Fame has inducted, include:

• Jack Ham (Linebacker): Pittsburgh Steelers
• Franco Harris (Running Back): Pittsburg Steelers/Seattle Seahawks
• Mike Michalske (Guard): New York Yankees/Green Bay Packers
• Lenny Moore (Flanks/Running Back): Baltimore Colts
• Mike Munchak (Guard): Houston Oilers

From its mascot to its future professional football all-stars, Penn State has represented outstanding football, for over a century. Use Penn State Nittany Lions merchandise to cheer on the team as it bounds toward its third NCAA football championship!

NFL Thursday Night Football – Steelers vs. Browns – Live Streaming Picks

NFL Thursday Night Football Live Streaming Picks

We are just two days away from another Thursday Night Football NFL picks matchup, this week the Pittsburgh Steelers will be heading to Cleveland to take on the Browns. After the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Oakland Raiders just about anything can happen this Thursday night as the Steelers look to avoid a fifth straight NFL picks loss.

The 6-6 Pittsburgh Steelers take on the 1-11 Cleveland Browns Thursday night on the NFL Network in a Week 14 AFC North Division clash. Last week, the defending Super Bowl champs were shocked at home by the lowly Raiders while the Browns gave the Chargers all they wanted but eventually fell 30-23. The Steelers and the Browns have already met once this season with the Steelers winning 27-14 behind a 417-yard performance by QB Ben Roethlisberger. This head-to-head matchup has been all Pittsburgh with the Steelers winning 12 in a row. NFL odds makers expect Pittsburgh’s dominance over Cleveland to continue, listing the Steelers as a 10-point favorite with the total set at 34.

Cleveland is just 1-10 in its last 11 divisional games and already eliminated from the playoffs, and if the playoffs started today, Pittsburgh would be on the outside looking in as well. Cleveland would like nothing more than to end their 12-game losing streak to Pittsburgh and to, perhaps, spoil the Steelers playoff chances in the process.

The good news is that the Browns have not quit yet. They have been competitive in each of their last four games and have covered the spread in three straight games as a result. Cleveland’s defense is much better than many realize, but the statistics don’t paint that picture as it has to spend way too much time on the field due to the Browns lackluster offense. That defense will have to be on its A-game Thursday night, but it will need some help from the offense to have any chance at pulling off the upset. Brady Quinn has played much better in recent weeks as he tries to convince management that he is the long term answer at QB. He can really make a statement this week if he can play well against a Steelers defense that has allowed 27 points to both Kansas City and Oakland in two of their last three games. It is worth noting that the Steelers are on a 0-5 ATS skid versus teams with a losing record.

The Steelers have lost four in a row to find themselves slipping out of the playoff picture. This skid has Mike Tomlinson facing adversity for the first time as a head coach. He has hinted that he may shake up the lineup to get his team’s attention. The bottom line is, he must have his team ready to play on the road without  much preparation time against a Browns team that is not laying down.

The Steelers absolutely crushed the Browns through the air in the season’s first meeting, but the passing game could take a hit as Hines Ward could miss with a hamstring injury. That means the Steelers could use a coming out party from Limas Sweed. Big things were expected from Sweed, who was drafted in the second round of the 2008 draft, but so far he has been a major disappointment with only once catch this season. It is worth noting that the Steelers are 8-3-1 ATS in the last 12 meetings. If you like Pittsburgh to continue its dominance over the Browns.

Sunday’s NFL roundup – NFL football, NFL Previews, NFL standings

After 40 years of being pushed around and dominated by the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Cincinnati Bengals refused to be bullied any more.

The Bengals beat the Steelers at their own game in their own stadium, relying on a defence that smothered Ben Roethlisberger and the Super Bowl champions by holding them to four field goals, and using one big special teams play for an 18-12 victory Sunday that put them in control of the AFC North.

Shayne Graham kicked four field goals in the second half even as the Bengals (7-2) failed to convert opportunity after opportunity to take control. Bernard Scott’s 96-yard kickoff return in the first quarter proved pivotal as Cincinnati, despite playing the second half without ace running back Cedric Benson and failing to convert on the extra point after Scott’s score, followed up a 23-20 win over the Steelers (6-3) on Sept. 27.

By sweeping the season series for the first time since 1998, the Bengals effectively lead the division by two games because they own the tiebreaker and, for the first time in their history, a 5-0 division record.

Dolphins 25, Bucs 23
At Miami, Chad Henne directed a 77-yard scoring drive in the final 1:10, and Dan Carpenter kicked a 25-yard field goal with 10 seconds left.
Henne spoiled the Bucs’ comeback led by Josh Freeman, who rallied his team in the fourth quarter for the second time in two NFL starts. The rookie shook off an awful first half and led his team to a pair of late touchdowns.

The Dolphins (4-5) won despite losing running back Ronnie Brown to a right ankle injury in the third quarter. The Bucs (1-8) were unable to build momentum after beating Green Bay a week earlier.
An ill-advised pass by Henne was intercepted to set up the Bucs’ go-ahead score with 1:14 left.
Henne, a second-year pro, finished 17-for-31 for 175 yards and improved to 4-2 as a starter. Williams ran for 102 yards, and Brown rushed for 82 and a touchdown before his injury.

Saints 28, Rams 23
At St. Louis, Reggie Bush helped the unbeaten New Orleans Saints overcome another bundle of mistakes and get off to the best start in team history.
Bush scored twice for the first time in more than a year and Drew Brees compensated for two interceptions with two touchdown passes in a 28-23 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.

Courtney Roby opened the second half with a 97-yard kickoff return and Robert Meachem’s 27-yard grab early in the fourth quarter gave New Orleans (9-0) just enough breathing room to tie the franchise record with nine straight wins.

Marc Bulger’s 19-yard pass to Donnie Avery shaved the deficit to five with 2:44 to go and the Rams (1-8) made it to the New Orleans 32 before Bulger threw incomplete into the end zone on the final play.

Panthers 28, Falcons 19
At Charlotte, N.C., Jake Delhomme went turnover-free for the third straight game, finding Steve Smith for two touchdowns.

Matt Ryan twice seemed poised to lead Atlanta on the winning drive. First, his kicker let him down. Then his sophomore troubles popped up again.
The Panthers (4-5) built a 21-10 halftime lead, but the win wasn’t sealed until Richard Marshall picked off Ryan, setting up Jonathan Stewart’s 45-yard touchdown run with 2:07 left.
Earlier, Jason Elam missed a 34-yard field goal that would have given Atlanta (5-4) the lead.

Ryan completed just 7-of-19 passes for 48 yards and an interception in the first half, often overthrowing receivers and appearing rattled by Carolina’s pressure.

Vikings 27, Lions 10
At Minneapolis, Brett Favre passed for a season-high 344 yards, 201 to Sidney Rice, and Detroit lost for the 31st time in 33 games.

The Lions (1-8) joined the Houston Oilers, from Nov. 21, 1982 through Nov. 4, 1984, as the only NFL teams to lose 31 games in a 33-game stretch, according to STATS.
They’ve played tough this season several times, as the Vikings can attest, but after a slew of injuries in this game and more poor pass coverage they dropped their 12th straight at the Metrodome.

Adrian Peterson lost a fumble but turned 18 carries into 133 yards and two touchdowns for Minnesota (8-1).

Redskins 27, Broncos 17
At Landover, Md., the Washington Redskins broke the 17-point barrier for the first time this season and ended a four-game losing streak.

The Broncos lost their third straight and had to play the second half with Chris Simms at quarterback after Kyle Orton left with an ankle injury.
Denver (6-3) has struggled since opening the season with six wins.
Ladell Betts scored on a one-yard run with 2:44 to play. With Clinton Portis sidelined after suffering a concussion in last week’s loss at Atlanta, Betts made his first start since 2006 and ran for 114 yards on 26 carries.

Jason Campbell completed 17-of-26 passes for 193 yards for the Redskins (3-6). The 27-point outburst was their greatest since Week 2 of last season.

Titans 41, Bills 17
At Nashville, Tenn., Chris Johnson ran for 132 yards and two touchdowns, and he caught nine passes for 100 more.

The Titans (3-6) are on a roll since opening the season 0-6, and they can thank Johnson, the NFL’s leading rusher and the league’s first back to top 1,000 yards this season.
Young also threw for a touchdown and finished with 210 yards passing in winning his seventh straight start. He also ran five times for 29 yards.

Buffalo (3-6) got Trent Edwards back and rookie Jairus Byrd picked off a pass in a fifth straight game. But the Bills lost their second straight.

Jaguars 24, Jets 22
At East Rutherford, N.J., Josh Scobee kicked a 21-yard field goal as time expired after the Jaguars passed up a touchdown in order to drain the clock.

With the Jaguars facing second-and-6 from the 10, Maurice Jones-Drew took a handoff up the middle and went to a knee at the one to give Jacksonville first and goal with just over a minute left. New York had no timeouts left.
David Garrard knelt the ball twice, giving Scobee the opportunity to kick the game winner for the Jaguars (5-4).

It was another devastating loss for the Jets (4-5), who came out of their bye-week break making the same types of mistakes that plagued them in the first eight games. New York has dropped five of six.

Chargers 31, Eagles 23
At San Diego, LaDainian Tomlinson scored twice to continue his climb up the career rushing and scoring lists, and the Chargers pulled into a tie atop the AFC West.

Tomlinson gained a season-high 96 yards on 24 carries to pass Thurman Thomas and Franco Harris and move into 12th place all-time with 12,145 yards. His two touchdowns gave him 146 and moved him past Marcus Allen and into third place on the all-time list.
The Chargers and Broncos, both 6-3, play next Sunday in Denver.

Donovan McNabb threw for a season-high 450 yards, completing 35-of-55, and two late touchdowns for Philadelphia (4-5). He was intercepted in the end zone by Antonio Cromartie on the game’s last play.
Eagles running back Brian Westbrook was knocked out with another concussion. He had missed the previous two games after a concussion during a win against Washington on Oct. 26.

Chiefs 16, Raiders 10
At Oakland, Calif., Jamaal Charles scored on a 44-yard run for Kansas City’s first rushing touchdown of the season and the Chiefs used a late interception to win their seventh straight game in Oakland.

The Chiefs (2-7) have managed to win just five of their past 35 games. But three of those wins have come at the Oakland Coliseum, where Kansas City has the longest winning streak ever by a visiting team.
Ryan Succop kicked three field goals and Kansas City once again pulled out a close one against the Raiders (2-7) in the Chiefs’ first game since releasing running back Larry Johnson.

The Raiders scored a touchdown on their opening drive and then managed just three points and 202 yards the rest of the way.

Cardinals 31, Seahawks 20
At Glendale, Ariz., rookie Beanie Wells had second-half touchdown runs of 10 and 13 yards and Arizona rallied from an early two-touchdown deficit for its second home win in five tries.

Kurt Warner completed 29-of-38 for 340 yards and two touchdown passes as the Cardinals (6-3) stayed two games up on San Francisco in the NFC West. Warner also became the 29th player in NFL history to throw 200 touchdown passes, and had his 51st 300-yard passing game, tying Dan Fouts for fourth on the NFL career list.

With Julius Jones out early with a chest injury, second-year back Justin Forsett rushed for a career-high 123 yards, including an 11-yard touchdown run, for the Seahawks (3-6).
Matt Hasselbeck, who had been bothered by a sore shoulder, was 26-of-52 for 315 yards and a touchdown. He was picked off twice late in the game.

Packers 17, Cowboys 7
At Green Bay, Wis., Charles Woodson helped Green Bay’s defence finally play up to its potential against a big-time opponent, forcing two fumbles and picking off a pass by Tony Romo on the goal-line.

It wasn’t a pretty win for the Packers (5-4), but it might have saved their season after back-to-back demoralizing losses.
The Packers sacked Romo five times and held him to 251 yards passing in a momentum- killer for the Cowboys (6-3), who had won four straight. Dallas also lost starting right tackle Marc Colombo to a broken left leg.

Aaron Rodgers scored on a quarterback sneak and threw a touchdown pass to tight end Spencer Havner. Rodgers was 25-of-36 for 189 yards and a touchdown, but was also sacked four times.

2009 NFL Draft Impact On Fantasy Football

After months of analysis and projections leading up to the April 25-26 NFL draft followed by days of draft recap and team grades, we focus on what really matters to us; how the draft affects our fantasy football leagues. While we may have thoughts on the absurdity of the contracts signed by high draft picks, it has no effect on our fantasy football team’s payroll. Players may have been drafted higher or lower than projected, but that has no impact on where they will be drafted in our leagues. What matters most to us is if the player will play and if it will be this year or in upcoming years. Let’s take a quick spin through the league and look at each team’s new additions that could factor into our fantasy football drafts.

AFC

Baltimore – Baltimore’s best pick was on the offensive line with G Michael Oher. I cannot see this changing the draft position of any of the Ravens’ three-headed backfield. DE Paul Kruger was a nice addition to an aging defense.

Buffalo – Buffalo added players across the board, except for the offensive skill positions (Terrell Owens was added via free agency). DE Aaron Maybin will be a stud on defense, bumping the defense up a few positions. They did add TE Shawn Nelson who could have a sneaky year catching passes underneath. Hopefully, Owens won’t catch him conspiring with QB Trent Edwards on individual plays.

Cincinnati – The Bengals had a great overall draft, but their improvements on the offensive line OT Andre Smith and defense with LB Rey Maualuga and DE Michael Johnson does little to make their defense draftable or increase the draftability of any offensive players. I do love TE Chase Coffman and will take my chances on him with a late round pick.

Cleveland – Rookie wide receivers rarely do much in the NFL, but the Browns added two that I would recommend taking as a late round pick; Brian Robiskie and Mohamed Massaquoi.

Denver – The Broncos addressed their biggest weakness; their defense. However, their defense should only be rostered when facing Kansas City and Oakland. RB Knowshon Moreno is worth drafting, but I would not draft him too high as Denver signed 4 free agent RBs so I don’t see Moreno as their primary back.

Houston – The Texans added a few starters on defense to help out Mario Williams. The jury is out on whether or not it makes the position draftable or not cuz they were the 27th-ranked fantasy defense in 2008.

Indianapolis – DT Fili Moala helps the defense immediately, but the player to focus on is RB Donald Brown. Brown quietly lead the NCAA in rushing yards in 2008 and will step in right away for the Colts. Joseph Addai is still the number 1 running back, but has proven to be injury-prone, so Brown will get reps right away to minimize Addai’s touches. He should be selected in middle rounds and a few rounds higher in Keeper Leagues.

Jacksonville – The Jags grabbed a pair of offensive tackles to help restore their running game. This should keep Maurice Jones-Drew as a second round pick. WR Mike Thomas is worth a late-round flier.

Kansas City – The Chiefs signed a few good players on defense in DT Alex Magee and LB Tyson Jackson, but they will not make their defense worth drafting.

Miami – You will read a lot about how well QB Patrick White will fit into the Fins’ Wildcat offense, but how many touches can you realistically expect? They grabbed 6′ 5″ WR Patrick Thomas outta USC to help their passing game, but if their offense does not make Ted Ginn Jr an every week starter, Thomas has no chance.

New England – Much like Dallas, New England worked multiple trades to fill multiple holes, but none of them will help us in the fantasy world. No offensive players to note and their D will not change draft perception with the new additions.

New York Jets – The Jets were the most daring team during the draft and landed two draftable players out of their three picks in QB Mark Sanchez and RB Shonn Green. Many people questioned the Green pick, but I love this kid. He is as tough and powerful as they get. Thomas Jones is in his early 30s and threatening to hold out if he doesn’t get more cash and Leon Washington may become too expensive, so Green is not a bench warmer. Sanchez had a short starting career at USC, but excelled in a pro style offense and seems polished and ready to tackle the New York media. I would recommend Sanchez as a mid-round pick and can see taking Green as a double digit round pick. Bump Sanchez up considerably in Keeper leagues and bump Green up a few rounds in Keeper leagues as well.

Oakland – Oakland would receive much more ridicule for its draft choices if Detroit wasn’t in the league. However, in fantasy football, who cares if Oakland drafted a guy a round too early and bypassed a much better receiver to do it. WR Darius Heyward-Bey is a burner and can put up some serious numbers if JaMarcus Russell can get him the ball. A good mid-round pick.

Pittsburgh – The Steelers didn’t really do much to change fantasy football except add another solid DT to its defense in Evander Hood. They should still be the first or second defense drafted.

San Diego – The Chargers added DE Larry English, but will probably move him to LB, especially if Merriman is slowed from his knee surgery and Shaun Phillips can’t stay out of trouble. No impact on fantasy in the least.

Tennessee – WR Kenny Britt was their best pick, but he will be a third option in a run first, second and third offense. They replaced Albert Haynesworth with DT Sen’Derrick Marks (no misspelling on the name). He is a slight step back, but won’t change the location in the draft for the Tennessee D.

NFC

Arizona – The Cards happily grabbed RB Chris “Beanie” Wells with the first pick in the second round. He will play immediately as Edgerrin James was released and Tim Hightower appears to be best suited as a goal-line back. Beanie should be drafted in one-season in rounds 4-5 in standard 12-team leagues and rounds 3-4 in Keeper leagues.

Atlanta – Eight picks, all on defense. So, obviously, the Falcons D is the only position that improved. They have some solid additions to support their corners as well as help John Abraham, especially DT Peria Jerry, S William Moore and DE Lawrence Sidbury. This will propel them into the top half of draftable defenses.

Carolina – DE Everette Brown and S Sherrod Martin will help the defense a bit, though not near as much as keeping Julius Peppers will. Their defense should remain in the same draft position.

Chicago – The Bears did pretty well considering they only drafted on Day 2. WR Juaquin Iglesias is a nice addition to a weak receiving core and could be a productive late round pick on draft day. DT Jarron Gilbert will help the Bears D out a bit, though not altering their draft position.

Dallas – The Cowboys traded their way into a lot of worthless picks. Even though the Cowboys had no draftable backup QB last year, I do not believe that QB Stephen McGee is in that category this year. If you draft QB Tony Romo, your backup should be a starting QB on another team.

Detroit – QB Matthew Stafford is giddy knowing that he will be given the reigns to a winless team, so the bar for success in worm-high. It also brings a rare smile to his face when he envisions WR Calvin Johnson in his huddle. However, he is still a rookie QB on a winless team, so don’t pick him as your number 1 QB. He should be drafted higher in Keeper leagues. TE Brandon Pettigrew is a must-draft TE in later rounds.

Green Bay – Green Bay’s D was productive in the TD category last season, but was a bit of a sieve. Adding DT B.J. Raji and LB Clay Matthews enhances this position a few rounds.

Minnesota – The Vikings grabbed WR Percy Harvin to add a new dimension to their offense. The kid can flat-out play, if he adjusts to life in the Twin Cities. I would definitely recommend picking him up in early double-digit rounds.

New Orleans – The Saints’ D was startable at certain times last season coming off the waiver wire. That will change a bit this year with the additions of CB Malcolm Jenkins and S Chip Vaughn. I feel good recommending drafting them in the last round.

New York Giants – The G-Men addressed their biggest need right away by drafting WR Hakeem Nicks. He should be drafted in early double digit rounds. I would recommend a late round handcuff of RB Andre Brown if you draft Brandon Jacobs. RB Derrick Ward is now on Tampa so Brown will be taking over for him.

Philadelphia – Philly will have the most rookies drafted this year. They landed WR Jeremy Maclin, TE Cornelius Ingram and RB LeSean McCoy. Maclin may be a DeSean Jackson clone in playmaking ability, which is good if he waits until he crosses the goal line to celebrate his scores. Ingram will be a favorite target of McNabb when he needs a tough catch across the middle and McCoy is a must-draft handcuff to Westbrook.

Seattle – LB Aaron Curry will definitely help Seattle on defense, but makes no difference in fantasyland. WR Deon Butler was drafted to replace Bobby Engram, but I see no reason to draft him unless you are in a really deep league.

San Francisco – The Niners get a gift in picking up WR Michael Crabtree with the 10th pick. He is the class of the receiving group and will be a flat-out receiving stud in the NFL. I don’t think you’ll get him if you wait until the middle rounds of your draft. You especially want to grab him early in your Keeper Leagues. In addition to Crabtree, the Niners picked up RB Glen Coffey who should be your handcuff to Frank Gore.

St. Louis – The Rams picked up T Jason Smith to replace Orlando Pace and will show immediate dividends in the passing and running game as Pace is vastly overrated and almost stationary nowadays. That being said, Marc Bulger is a late draft pick and Steven Jackson is still a first round pick. As much as I love LB James Laurinaitis, he doesn’t make the Rams D draftable in any format.

Tampa Bay – Good luck with QB Josh Freeman. If he only played as well as he talks. He has the size for an NFL QB (6′ 6″), but I don’t even recommend drafting him in a Keeper League.

Washington – The Skins further enhanced their defensive front by drafting DE Brian Orakpo. In addition to line help, they also grabbed two LBs and CB Kevin Barnes. This greatly enhances the attraction of the Washington D and moves them into the top 8-10 defenses to draft.

North Carolina State Wolfpack College Football Tickets and Seating Chart

The North Carolina State Wolfpack college football team came out of the gate this season with the best of intentions but took home a loss 3-7 against South Carolina. Just a little more than a week later, however, the Wolfpack came back with a vengeance and took down Murray State 65-7. The Wolfpack didn’t stop there, however and took home another win against Gardner Webb with a win 45-14 on September 19.

It appeared the momentum was up and running and the Wolfpack took Pittsburgh to the line and defeated them 38-31 on September 26. With this kind of playing, there’s no question that the Wolfpack stands a good chance of taking their team to the championship this season. Although Wake Forest took home a win on October 3, there’s still plenty of steam and howling left in the Wolfpack for the remainder of the season.
