A man who was shot during a Homewood gun battle with police will stand trial. At a preliminary hearing today, District Judge Kevin Cooper held for court charges of aggravated assault, assault of a law enforcement officer, attempted homicide and reckless endangerment against Thomas Anthony Scott, 24, of the East Hills.

Penguins captain Sidney Crosby cleared to participate in morning skates
PITTSBURGH, Pa. – It looks like Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby is making progress in his recovery from a concussion. He has been cleared by doctors to participate in morning skates with the team but will not take part in full practices. There is no timetable for his return to game action.
